At over 300 years old, Lloyd’s is the best known, but probably the least understood, insurance brand in the world. Contrary to popular belief, it is not an insurance company, but a market place in which its members, the syndicates, join together to write insurance and reinsurance business. It currently comprises 54 agents that manage 82 syndicates insuring complex and specialist risks, from oil rigs, to celebrity body parts to major airlines.
Lloyd's has used ERA since 2003 to facilitate its RCSA process. As part of its preparation for Solvency II, Lloyd's developed a new governance structure and risk framework. To facilitate this, Lloyd's moved to ERA Kairos in 2011.
Skipton Building Society is the UK’s fourth largest building society with total group assets of over £15bn. Founded in 1853, today it boasts 104 branches and has 850,000 members.
A Methodware client since 2004, in 2011 Skipton became an early adopter of ERA Kairos. It allows the OpRisk team to choose how users access the system and to control what they see at every step of the process.
KAR Auction Services (KAR)
KAR Auction Services (KAR) provides whole car auction solutions, serving two main client types, institutional customers and dealers. The organisation employs nearly 11,000 people across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
To deal with the large number of sites and the constant flow of complex audit information, KAR deploys internal audit staff throughout North America, with many travelling extensively to report from the field. To smooth the flow of audit information, KAR has used ERA since 2004
The Independent Oversight Group (IOG)
The Independent Oversight Group (IOG) was established to monitor, report and advise on compliance for Telecom New Zealand as an independent agency. The IOG uses ERA to document, analyse and report on regulatory, operational and risk data across a wide range of sources and stakeholders.
The IOG tracks Telecom’s compliance with the Separation Undertakings in real time using ERA, where auditing and quarterly reporting of this progress is also performed. In addition, the IOG records and monitors risk assessments and industry analyses of high risk areas. This allows proactive preparation of review plans and identification of future compliance issues.
The Pacific Prevention of Domestic Violence Programme (PPDVP)
The Pacific Prevention of Domestic Violence Programme (PPDVP) is a joint initiative of several Pacific police organisations. The PPDVP works to develop a consistent regional approach for domestic violence incidents, as well as building capacity at a local level to prevent and respond to domestic violence.
The PPDVP documents and analyses domestic violence cases with Investigator. This approach allows officers to gather information on developing trends and patterns, so targeted strategies can be implemented to mitigate and eradicate domestic violence in the region. The stigma of reporting domestic violence has been reduced, as the police forces have been able to provide confidence to the public that they are effectively responding to these serious crimes.
